Women of faith can be unstoppable!
At St. Paul’s, our local chapter of United Women in Faith (UWF) gathers to be an impactful force for women, children, and youth. We start by nurturing each other spiritually, sharing our faith journey. Praying together, attending fun retreats, and watching notable movies or videocasts are some of the ways we grow together.
We seek to be brave forces for good! Our members have served the community at occasional — about 2-hour — service events. For example, our group has checked package expiration dates at Food Bank of Northern Nevada (with music blasting!), and sorted toy donations at The Children’s Cabinet.

Our practical and enjoyable fundraising efforts support families locally, regionally, and internationally. The programs include, but are not limited to the following:
- World Thank Offering events where folks can give small boxes of spare change
- Ellie White Elephant pop-up sales, at which the congregation can shop for donated treasures
- Sparks Florist® 12 Months of Flowers punch cards to receive monthly bouquets

St. Paul’s UWF offers a part of our annual distributions to programs sponsored by UWF Conference. Specifically, the Conference provides educational, housing, and other assistance to women and youth around the world. In addition, the other portion of our collections are offered directly to organizations that we learn about, study, or visit.
Instead of choosing one or two worthy organizations, our call and prayer lead us to donate to evolving needs around us.
The programs vary each year and in the past two years involve causes such as the following:
- World Central Kitchen meals for families in Gaza/Palestine, 2025
- United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) support in Ukraine, 2025
- Samaritan Village Orphanage And Medical Clinic, in Tanzania, 2026
- Church World Service’s CROP Hunger Walks, helping communities locally and internationally
- Rio Texas Conference of the UM Church for Texas Flood aid, 2025
- Food Bank of Northern Nevada, 2026
