Learn more about the ways we regularly meet to grow in prayer, care for one another, and serve the community. These are only some of the ongoing opportunities, but subscribe to the newsletter to learn about what is coming up next!

Connecting with God and Each Other

Weekly Bible Study: On Monday evenings at 4:30pm by Zoom, read through the scriptures for the following Sunday with supportive and caring companions who will ask questions, share experiences, and offer inspiration with you.

Spiritual Growth Classes: Join together to grow deeper in our faith practices through scripture, prayer practices, supportive relationships, and other means of grace. Talk to Pastor Susan, Pastor David, or Pastor Colleen to learn more.
Serving our Church Community

Pastoral Care Team: visits and calls members of the congregation in need of care, and meets by Zoom on Mondays to pray together and organize to cover all the needs.

Worship Team: Play an instrument? Like to sing? Got a heart for worship? All musicians, singers, and readers are welcome to help lead worship through music and liturgy. Joyce leads the band at the Sunday morning service, Bailey at the Sunday evening service, and Raul on Saturdays. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, and again an hour before each service.

Audio/Visual Crew: Works to support all of the worship services by running the sound board, visual aids, and livestream. Come visit the sound desk in the back of the sanctuary on a Saturday or Sunday, or contact the office to set up training.

Worship Design Team: Gathers occasionally to discuss what spiritual topics will support growth in the congregation, plan worship series, and help with worship decor to inspire the congregation. Talk to Pastor Susan for more details.

Lay Leadership: Our church is powered by the Holy Spirit and willing lay people! If you are interested in serving to help maintain the facilities, finances, ministries or outreach of the church, talk to Pastor Susan to find out where you can plug in!
Serving Beyond Our Walls

Monthly Community Outreach: Once a month after Sunday morning worship, we join together to make our community a better place – wildflower seed bombs, building disaster relief kits, giving children joy with gingerbread houses, senior care packages, sing-alongs at a local senior home, and anything else we can come up with! Many hands makes light work, and our hands stay busy sharing joy and hope, no strings attached.

Charlie Bags: Inspired and founded by a parishioner named Charlie who had experienced homelessness, Charlie Bags contain basic toiletries, water, some food, and other things highly useful to those sleeping outside. Anyone who needs one can take one, and anyone can take one to keep in their car to give to someone who may need it.

Senior Stockings: Before Christmas, anyone can take responsibility for stuffing a stocking for a senior in need at a local nursing home. Lists are available at the entryway to the sanctuary to know what specific things seniors have requested. Sign up before we run out!

Outreach to Peavine Elementary School: St. Paul’s UMC is located across the street from Peavine Elementary School, and occasionally does things to help support the staff, faculty, and families of the school. Sign up to take First Day of School photos, surprise staff with goodies, or participate in the other events throughout the year to bolster and encourage our neighbors.

Partnership with Noah’s Ark Child Center: St. Paul’s UMC is a proud partner with the Noah’s Ark Child Center (learn more at www.noahsarkreno.com). Throughout the year, St. Paul’s hosts activities to bring some fun and support to the families at the preschool, including making gingerbread houses at the holidays!
