Service Times: Sundays at 8AM & 10AM

Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors

Sunday School

Children participate in the beginning of the 10:00 a.m. Worship Services through Children's Time and are then led into Sunday School.  (Nursery is provided for infants  - 3 years). Sunday School is a "one" room concept with age appropriate activity centers and materials.  Older children (tweens) meet separately and are also encouraged to help with the younger children.

Sunday School - a time for children to sit quietly and learn about God....well, not exactly! At St. Paul's children's Sunday School is a lot more.  Our group of children's volunteers work together to create a fun, active, learning experience for your child.  Our goal is to provide an environment which nurtures your child's spiritual growth and to provide a building block for a personal relationship with God.

We offer a variety of activities which include Bible Stories, prayer, creative projects and lots of fun.  It is important at St. Paul's for children to be included in other church activities as well.  So don't be surprised if you see some of our youngsters greeting you in the sanctuary, participating in the offertory, or serving you goodies during our after worship fellowship!

Prayer Partners

St. Paul's UMC children's Sunday School participants were recently partnered with an adult from the congregation to form Prayer Partners.  This is a unique opportunity for the children and our "young at heart" adults to create a special bond.  It encourages interaction between the adults and the children in our Church by praying for one another. Prayer Partners may spend a few minutes with each other on Sundays to discuss their upcoming week and prayer requests.

Blue Moon Play Date

5th Sundays of the month - noon until 1:30 p.m.

Blue Moon Play Date takes place on months with five Sundays.  This is an afternoon of lunch, planned activities and time to just play with your children.  The program is designed for parents to accompany their children and participate with their children in the afternoon's activities.  So join us at the church from noon until 1:30 p.m. for a fun afternoon.  Or better yet, join us for Worship service at 10:00 a.m. and stay for the fun.

Children Giving Back

St. Paul's United Methodist Church is involved in many community outreach programs throughout Washoe County.  We feel it is important to instill a "giving back" attitude of helping others by teaching our children this concept through example.  Our children are involved in St. Paul's "The Church Has Left The Building" days when the congregation goes out in to the community for a day of service to others.  Children also participate in assembling Back Packs, providing school supplies, donating shoes and clothing, filling the food bank barrels, etc.

Special Activities

Special Activities are planned for children throughout the year.  Some of these include Ginger Bread House decorating and the Children's Christmas Pageant.

St. Paul's UMC hosts "Comfort Food Fridays" on the 2nd Friday night of each month.  This is a great way to spend an evening sharing a family meal together after a hectic week. Meals are $7.00 for adults (12 and older) and free for kids under the age of 12.  The time is flexible for your convenience (come any time between 5:30 p.m and 7:00 p.m.)  Take-out meals are also available.

Every month there is a 5th Sunday, there is a Blue Moon Playdate after the 10:00  AM service. This is a great time for families to meet and have fun in a safe environment.
